Hopefully we get rid of Fredi g after this season and get a big name for 2017 and the new stadium
frozemyblood
I have a feeling that as long as ‘ol Bobby is around, Fredi will be too. Fredi has been about as bad as it gets over his tenure and he’s STILL around. He’ll get the Marvin Lewis treatment.
RunDMC
Not necessarily, the second-half play of that team couldn’t save Fredi. There was no team and no camaraderie. I don’t know how he’s still a manager if Bobby wasn’t giving ultimatums saving his job. By 2017, we need a new manager.

It has been my belief all along that the Braves were only keeping Fredi until someone else came along. I could never say who that name was because I didn’t know. I think I do now…. Chipper Jones. I think they are aiming at him being the manager wether that’s in 2017 or 2018 I’m not sure. But I think they were just waiting for him to be ready to return to baseball.

I like Bryan Price more than most Reds fans. For a year like 2015 when you start the year with Jason Marquis in the rotation and your depth option is Skip Shumaker for multiple positions what do you honestly expect?
I wouldn’t be sad to see him leave, but I think he gets more flak that he deserves.

Guys like Marquis and Gregg never should have been on the roster, which is on the GM
Baseball on Earth
Last year, it was leaked to the media that then-Tampa Bay Rays GM Andrew Friedman received 35 M /5 year from the Dodgers. The contract details of Dave Dombrowski was not revealed, but many assumed he got similar deal from the Red Sox.
It will be interesting to see if Theo Epstein will command similar or higher salary for his upcoming contract.

No Doubt……and he should. He’s done a much better job with rebuilding the Cubs than Friedman has done with a club “that didn’t need as much work”.
We.Need.More.Grit
Well Friedman’s been there for a singular year and Theo’s been there al through their rebuild. Thus, your statement is nullified.
That said, money ball on big budgets is gonna be interesting to view in hindsight in 3-4 years.

Loved Robin Ventura when he played. Not so much in his attempt to manage. North side saw an opportunity to get a top manager and jumped on it. South side plugs in someone and hopes it works, and then rides them way too long.
greatd
Love Jed and Theo. Wishful thinking but hope they stay around forever as the two legends who ended the curse.

FIRE VENTURA HAHN AND WILLIAMS NOW!!! Wake up from your 3 year nap Jerry the sox are getting worse and nobody is accountable
nrd1138
Hahn is not the issue, not by a long shot. It is JRs love of Ventura that is the main issue, and KW’s ego not being able to admit he made a major gaff in bringing in Ventura to mange this club.
KWs other problem is he thinks he is always the smartest guy in the room which is not. Hahn has done everything he could to make this team better, but this team has no fire or want to win, which IMO falls right on the manager more than anyone else.
greatd
Reinsdorf’s a Yankee fan. He’s not going to give up on Ventura that easily.
