Can’t imagine they’d get anything for him, might as well keep him for depth which is what they need

How about Nova and Gardner to the Nats for Ross and Storen.
Ken M.
I’ll gladly give you this 1 dollar bill for your 10 dollar bill.

Probably wouldn’t get much more than a middle reliever. For a team with pitching questions, it’s probably best they hold on to him.

Streamer has Nova at projected 0.8 WAR next season, similar to Teheran, Sabathia, and Shields. He could be a cheap alternative for a 5th starter. I would think he could be traded for a good middle reliever which is what Cashman is looking for.

I’d imagine the pirates would be interested. either a salary swap or a depth minors player probably about as far as they would go though.

I think the Yanks have said he’s available but I can’t see them “shopping” him. There’s not much value at this point and I think Cashman is smart enough to know that.
greatd
Maybe they get one high upside guy from the lower minors for him.

This would be big news…..in 2011.

Better to keep him for depth. The projected rotation is fragile. They’ll need his arm. Who knows, maybe he does very well on the cusp of free agency.

BREAKING- Reds trade Aroldis Chapman to Nationals for Dusty Baker. Dusty Baker then was immediately flipped to the Yankees for Ivan Nova, NYY then traded Baker to the Giants for Matt Cain, Joe Panik, Matt Duffy, and Skeeter.

Padres won that deal for sure.

Twins should trade Ricky Nolasco for Ivan Nova. Yanks get a good bounceback candidate and the Twins shed salary and could use Nova in the pen as a long reliever or in the rotation as a spot starter.

D’backs offer 2b Aaron Hill, $6M and a lower level prospect.
laflamablanca 2
Hill will hopefully bounce back, nova will have more time since his tj surgery so if a team only gave a reliever it could be a steal

How about an even up swap with the Braves for Jason Grilli, 1yr/3.5 with 3.0 option for 2017.

Cardinals will take him for a bucket of balls if the Yankees eat the contract as well. If not, a bucket of big league will be suffice.

Can’t believe the Yankees are doing nothing this off season. Perhaps they realize nothing is going to make them competitive this season? Severino has ace stuff but other than him is there any pitcher that frightens major league hitters. They walk to the plate with a smile on their face when going up against CC
