Rosario signed in Korea last weekend
Jeff Todd
Yeah, I meant to mention that. Still haven’t seen a clean enough report on it to put it on the site, though.
Slipknot37
When official, do you believe that was the right move for rosario to make?
Slipknot37
Just saying, rosario signed with a Korean team the other day
JoeyPankake
True. Hanhwa Eagles.
Time2Scott
Callaspo was with the Braves, not the Mets
timyanks
st loius should sign morneau
timyanks
i know
kbarr888
Why???……they have at least 3 solid options there already…..Adams, Moss, Piscotty…….and Gyorko can probably hold his own if pressed into service.
timyanks
more options
bighiggy
What if the cards shopped adams after spring training, maybe for a colorado outfielder. Then signed a pearce or desmond (if the contract is right). Desmond backs up short and or second. God knows peralta is serviceable but desmond could take over next year. Maybe shop peralta next year. Pierce would be able to back up first second or outfield. I know we have plenty of options but either of these players would make the cards better. Would free up adams for a trade and bring in something helpful.

Take no offense by my comment but this move as the rosters stands would be preety stupid. Is Morneau still a good hitter yes but he is a lefty as is Adams and both are starting first base caliber players neither are going to sit and both are confined to first base. Moss is also a lefty bat who is better suited to play first than the corner outfield and will demand playing time. Piscotty can also play first. If Adams and Moss were both dealt I could see them perusing morneau but fact is they have not and chances are they will not

If the White Sox don’t ink Cespedes, Desmond might find a home there. Otherwise, his “I should have accepted the Nationals offer” nightmare will continue. Kendrick should have stuck with the Dodgers, since he doesn’t have anyone knocking on his door right now. The rest of the guys will be bench players….or calling Japan.
Rally Weimaraner
Kendrick is always welcome to come back to LAA however, they can only offer about 1MM since they have decided that the luxury tax line is the payroll limit. Seems like a very arbitrary payroll limit for a team that is certainly profitable.

I’d love to see Howie return to Anaheim and a trade or free agent pickup for a left fielder. For some reason I keep checking every day to see if either of these things have happened. I know they won’t. Yet I keep checking anyway.
cmb1974
I would not mine seeing Pearce back in Baltimore
TJECK109
I am a little surprised no one has signed Alvarez as of yet. If he had someone like Chris Davis in front of him he could be even more dangerous. He hit his HRs in Pittsburgh without much power around him.
wilymo
being the poor man’s davis, pedro was probably kind of on hold until the davis situation got resolved, same as upton and cespodis. something should happen with him now. what, i don’t know
Cam
Problem is – that’s all he does, hit dingers. A sub .320 OBP with absolutely dreadful defense, won’t create much of a market.
Might as well bring back Dallas MacPherson.
Thurman8er
MacPherson does not exist in this dojo.
cmb1974
If he could play Of I think we would take him but Steve just was a i will do whatever best for the team guy you can put in the minors and he just work harder just wish his hits was a little higher
ASapsFables
More legitimate sources, including CSN’s Dan Hayes and MLB’s Ken Rosenthal are now reporting that the White Sox are close to signing Yoenis Cespedes to a 5 year contract. Stay tuned!
Matt Galvin
Good move for White Sox if happens makes like Garcia Trade bait.
gsipruitt
I’m seeing absolutely nothing. Think it may be fake Twitter accounts you saw.
Matt Galvin
No they aren’t.
ASapsFables
The tweet associated with Ken Rosenthal appears to be a fake. It disappeared from twitter about an hour after being posted. It had a legitimate link to Dan Hayes, who was given credit for breaking the story on the Rosenthal “tweet”, but that “report” was never found.

With all honesty, I am not sure I would list steve pierce as a major contributor. In 9 seasons in the majors he has had one very good season in 2014 and a 2015 where he showed the power but only hit .218 last season. He is entering his age 33 season in what is the post steroid era. Meaning his number should be projects to begin declining for sure. He has versatility and pop on his side. Although he has a career replacement level DWar and had a negative DWar last year. I probably woulf have listed him as a bench or platoon player as I do see him being a contributor but not major
cmb1974
I agree I don’t think any of these guys are major contributors. Pedro might be a nice bottom of the lineup dh. But the O’s only have jones that is proven we have Kim but who knows how he pan out still don’t know who will be in right or who pitching the O’s having some issues this year
YouGottaBeBleeepinMe
White Sox should sign Rollins as a utility player but also incase Anderson starts in the minors or Salidino struggles. Could easily be a mentor to Anderson not a bad idea to have a former MVP SS to mentor your future SS with high upside especially since Anderson’s glove is what’s holding him back.
BlueSkyLA
Would love to see the Dodgers sign Uribe for a year. He’d provide much needed depth all around the infield and his clubhouse presence is second to none.
Diablo 2
I wish Halos would sign Alvarez to DH
stymeedone
so you would play him over Pujols or Cron?
wilymo
platooning him with cron isn’t crazy. but the angels have worse problems than cron to spend their last three dollars on
wilymo
also that’d be a lot of roster slots to use on 1B/DHs
catcher12
Would love to see alvarez at 1st for the blue jays. Could use his pop to replace colabello. Murderers row with alvarez
wilymo
so do you not think colabello is for real. i’m not a jays fan but from what i saw of him colabello actually looked pretty awesome to me last year. as of today i would have said that he’s easily a better player than alvarez
yakyubeisbol
You missed listing Ramon Santiago in the Multi-Position category. Although he broke his collarbone last season while in spring training with the Blue Jays, he’s healed and has been playing well the past couple months in the Dominican Winter League. During the regular season he batted leadoff for the Escogido Leones playing second base and shortstop. Escogido is presently playing Licey in the Dominican Championship Series.
