Exactly the midway point between the Yankees offer and Eovaldi’s submission. That’s a good compromise,. That’s leaves just Chapman and Nova.

Why don’t the Yankees lock up some these younger players early (Pineda, Eovaldi, etc.) and buyout their arb years plus a couple of free agent years instead of waiting until free agency and having to pay full free agency market value?

West212…I agree. It’s interesting to see that change in mindset in the Yankee’s front office. It seems to me that this really is Brian Cashman’s team, as opposed to having Steinbrenner fingerprints on it, so locking up younger players is probably coming. Financial responsibility will make this team a monster when free agency hits in 2018-2019. I’m glad the Cubbies aren’t in the AL!
