Elvis to the Padres for Tyson Ross. They need a SS and we have 2 that are better than EA. If Profar stays healthy this will be Elvis’ last year as A Ranger. He might not even make it the whole year.

The Rangers would have to eat an enormous amount of Elvis’s contract in a trade (unless they are trading for another bad contract). He’s getting paid around $15M a year until 2023.

Hey Rangers fans, not here to troll, just talk a little baseball specifically the Cole Hamels trade. I’ll be rooting for the Rangers this year, Cole Hamels was that awesome for the Phillies, he;s the type of player you follow his career. same with Utley and Rollins. Anyways ,I want to get your thoughts on the Hamels trade, still to early to call, but, IMO, but I’m looking for the general vibe from the Rangers fans… do you think its a push? a steal? or gave up too much? From the Phillies side, its looking really good so far, 4 out of 5 of the prospects look like they have a real good chance of developing, especially Alfaro.. Again its early. How is the fanbase with Hamels and Diekman? The trade could have paid early dividends if it wasn’t for those crzy errors… never een anything like that in basecall, been watching for 30 years now too. Anyways, good liuck to the Rangers this year.

Personally, I view it as a win for both. The Phils got some good young talent that was log jammed here. Williams will be a good piece, but with Brinson and Maz ready to step up to the bigs very soon, he was expendable. The arms that we gave up were also expendable at this point.
The Rangers not only got two plus arms from the deal, but got rid of an albatross contract with Harrison.
The one piece that could swing the trade in the future is Alfaro. Personally, I was not thrilled with him, but if he can finally put it together, it’ll change how people view the trade.
