Delusional.

If you are listing Billy Hamilton as one of your building blocks, it’s going to be a long rebuild. Almost like trying to build around Jake Marisnick. Except Jake hits for more power and a better average.

Reds are 5 years from having any offense and that’s if they hit big on 2 position draft picks a year for the next 3 years… Only rebuilding team to go after no position players with any ops!

The Reds have a good nucleus of young pitching. But that isn’t enough to compete in NL Central over the next two seasons. Too many things have to go exactly right for Cincy to compete for a Central title. That’s not a bet that I’d want to take. In fact, I doubt that Jocketty & Williams are willing to take it either. As the article points out the Red’s have freed up over $55 mill for the ’17 season. If Jocketty really believes that this is a ’16 & ’17 competitive team, he certainly isn’t acting that way. And he shouldn’t. Say whatever needs to be said publicly but keep rebuilding.

Jocketty has been a mess for Reds. The front office game is moving too fast for him. At least the Reds promoted a young GM.

They have done the worst job of the rebuilding teams, with the small return on the Frazier trade and the Chapman trade and almost no free agent signings. It says that they have $50M in payroll room and it’s going to be a short retool. What are they going to do with that $50M, spend it on the terrible 2016-2017 free agent class? And who will want to sign there anyway? I think it’s going to be longer than 1 year out of contention. Smh
