Brantly could draw interest on waivers

Really hope Parker can make it back. It’s so unfortunate that he has had to have that surgery thrice now.

It’d probably be safer for him to take 2-3 years to heal then to make an immediate bid to pitch again.

Agreed. If I’m the A’s, I don’t even have him think about picking up a baseball until the 2017 offseason.

I wonder what it will take to sign Beltre? 2 years $46M sounds fair, but I bet Boras will demand 3 years with a higher annual value. He’s a HOF player and I hope he ends his career in a Rangers uniform.
Lance
Beltre is a FA who has performed to the level expected of him. But if he wants a lot more money at an advanced age, better to let him go and move on with Gallo at 3B for the near future if Gallo improves this season. That’s why you have a minor league system….to keep from having to buy expensive veterans.

Yeah this is the scenario I foresee happening. Gallo looked like he had a much better approach this spring. We will see if he can translate it at AAA.

Id give beltre either 2 years/40m or 3 years 50m. Maybe thats lowballing a little bit, max I think rangers should go is 2/42m or 3/55m. Beltre is an amazing player and is worth it.

I’d wait to even discuss it though. With Gallo coming up, and his advanced age, they are better off holding negotiations off until the end of the season.
