The Nats should trade Strasburg at the deadline regardless of whether or not they’re contending.

I rather hold on to him and get that draft pick compensation but if they really feel they go out of contention in the middle of the season maybe. But it’s way to early

So you would rather take a compensation first round pick probably in the mid 30s lottery ticket instead of a solid prospect or two in AA or above?

Why would you trade Strasburg if you’re still in the hunt for the playoffs? He gives you more a chance to win at that moment than any prospects received back.
RedRooster
For the same reason that last year people were saying the Padres should trade Justin Upton regardless of whether or not they were in the hunt and a few days ago people were saying the same thing about the Astros and Carlos Gomez.

Give Bradley some time. He is 23 yrs old. He was hit on the head last year with a line drive. Do not give up, too early.

If your in the hunt to winning why trade a rotation piece for prospects makes no sense. Regardless if hes going to be a FA. He will give them a chance to win and in the playoffs you need good starters. I rather take a chance to win a worldseries and if it didnt happen ill be contect with the draft choice. Everyones so hyped up on prospects not all of them make it to what they are projected to be lol very few at that. I would show a gm the door if we were contending and he made a move like that unless someone overpays like a mofo

The same reason everyone was saying a year ago that the Padres should trade Justin Upton even if they were in the hunt and now people are saying the Astros should trade Carlos Gomez even if they are in the hunt.
