Michael Martinez is back in the big leagues, that is shocking
Monkey’s Uncle
I was thinking the same thing. I can’t think of too many other players who have gotten more chances with less discernable talent.. He runs the bases better than average, he’s very versatile in the field (not all that good defensively, but versatile)… and other than that, I can’t really tout anything else he does. But props to him, he has gotten a lot of mileage out of hustle and (apparently) being a good clubhouse presence.

He does have decent numbers in AAA though…

Hes 33, has 204 career games to a tune of a .492 OPS.

This year though he was batting .288
Monkey’s Uncle
That means absolutely nothing, to be honest. He’s 33 years old. If he wasn’t batting .288 or close to it in AAA, he should be unemployed. Frankly, most guys young enough to be prospects who don’t hit well above .250 don’t even get to the big leagues.
