As a Reds fan for 40 + years, I don’t think I would consider Burke Badenhop a “successful” reliever for the Reds, unfortunately. Maybe he can write, because I read on Wikipedia that he authored a book. But as far as relieving goes, when I saw him coming in, he always seemed to make it more exciting than I wanted it to be.

Badenhop as a Red: 66.1 innings, 3.93 ERA, 2.71 BB/9, 46.7 percent ground-ball rate. Not bad at all. And that production is downright great compared to what the Reds’ bullpen has done this year on the whole.

He made it to the bigs and was able to play at the highest level for almost ten seasons. And he was kind enough to write a guest article for MLBTR… Say what you want, but I have nothing but praise and respect for the guy
