willson Contreras????
Ry.the.Stunner
I doubt he’ll have enough plate appearances on the year to be a serious contender. I don’t think I’d put him above anyone else on this list right now and I’m a Cubs fan,
bigkempin
Contreras only has 201 PA’s, 7/25, .270/.353/.444. Definitely a solid line for a C but nowhere near what the 6 players listed have accomplished.
davep-3
Contreras would be behind Ryan Schimpf (.950 OPS 149 RC in 5 less PA than Contreras) in addition to the names mentioned in the article.

It’s too bad Diaz got hurt.
This is Seager’s award
Vedder80
It was a three horse race for a while. Then Diaz and Story both went down within about a week. Seager still would have gotten it for being in the larger market though, regardless of whether they had gotten hurt or not.
bigkempin
Seager would’ve won it just because he’s in a larger market? It was Story’s award to lose before he went down. He very well might’ve ended up with 35-40 HR, 110+ RBI’s, and 10-12 SB’s.

How glad are Dodger fans that their FO didn’t trade Seager for a top shelf starter during one of their previous playoff years now?
sbrown285
no need to read more. Seager is the only candidate
BoldyMinnesota
Is Seager the best shortstop in the game already?
EndinStealth
Seager seems to have it locked up, but if Story and Diaz hadn’t gotten hurt I don’t think he’d have won.
chieftoto
He would’ve won no matter what… No bias here, I hate the dodgers and seager.
EndinStealth
I don’t think so. Story healthy the entire season would have been the favorite. Diaz could have taken second if not for the horrendous control of Andrew Cashner.

What an amazing group of young SS’s we have in the game today. Really exciting as a baseball fan.
Vedder80
Reminds me of the mid to late 90’s and early 2000’s when we got to watch Jeter, Nomar, Arod, and Renteria.
JFactor
Thank God we do too, because it’s been awhile since we had 5 good shortstops in the league that weren’t glove on shortstops.
Correa, Seager, Story, Diaz, Machado, etc etc
ducoach
I wish Story and Diaz didn’t get hurt so Seager could have won ROY without controversy. As for Contreras, his numbers don’t compare with Seagers’ and because he can’t get the AB’s on such a talented club. He could get runner-up if he gets really hot in September. With all the rookie talent in the AL, Seager could win there too! Lindor,Naquin, Mazzaro,(is Correa eligible? ). The kids in NY came out too late but Kepler with the Twins could take it. And we haven’t mentioned a single hurler! Wow, what a great year for rookie talent!! Baseball looks to be exciting and stocked with some GREAT talent for at least a decade!! Too bad Seager isn’t going to have The G.O.A.T. Annoucer calling his game. Good-bye Vinnie!! From my little transistor radio to my HDTV, I was one of the luckiest fans in Baseball. I got to hear Mr.Vin Scully from their first game in L.A. To his last game. Thanks for the great memories. Thanks for making me feel like I was a part of the Dodger Family.

Seager is a boss
Bruin1012
Seager is going to win it going away. He will probably finish on the MVP list somewhere as a rookie he is amazing easily the best rookie with WAR he might be a 7 to 8 war guy his rookie season amazing.

No Junior Guerra?
AngelFan69
Seeger has it in the bag…
