I wonder if Atlanta will put in a claim on him. Would make sense.
Matt Galvin
That is if he makes to the NL because he won’t make it past the Indians.

I think the Indians should focus on BP

He’s a free agent after the year. I’m legitimately curious why you think he’d fit well for the worst team in baseball
petfoodfella
Contract extension, not a lot of affordable options at C next year, etc.
aff10
Doubt he’d be interested in an extension this close to free agency, unless Atlanta was the high bidder anyways. I can see how he makes some sense in the off-season, but I don’t see a waiver claim
jayceincase
Why would Atlanta be a perfect fit? They have some sort of increase in payroll target the last six weeks of the season that they need to hit? A bad, rebuilding team does not seem like a logical landing spot for an aging mediocre catcher.

Maybe the blue Jays could try trading for him. I don’t think they want to go to the playoffs with thole as a ba
The Morning After Pillar
Dickey might not even be in the postseason rotation, so not like Thole would be getting many at bats if the Jays get there. The rest of Thole’s game is fine (defence, game calling), so not a huge deal

Could be a Mariners option as a backup to Zunino. Iannetta would be sent on waivers in response
sdsuphilip
given Ianetta’s drop off as a framer I guess that wouldn’t be the worst idea

What the hell are the Twins doing? Why wouldn’t they put Santana on waivers? There’s literally no downside. Puzzling why they’re so obsessed with keeping him in the first place, but it really makes no sense not to expose him to waivers. If nothing materializes that they like, just pull him back. I don’t get it.

cause santana has value after the season is over he can be traded in the offseason or at the trade deadline next year and suzuki is a free agent so 0 value to the twins after the season so why not try to get something for him
