I swear to god the Angels are pissing me off trying to ruin a bad season by doing well and not getting high draft pick
dlevin11
You are so right about Angels. Multiple bad years get you a boatload of top prospects. Just look at Cubs and Astros.

Sure would look good in LF in Houston !

Having watched JD every game he played both this year and last, I don’t agree with the defensive metrics. He threw out more runners in ’15, but otherwise looks the same in the field this year. Perhaps teams have learned not to try for the extra base on him.. Upton appears to be a lesser fielder than Martinez, and also appears to have more brain cramps when playing the OF. He seems to be more likely to become DH fodder than JD.

Newsflash: they are both awful defensively – all metrics and stats prove this. Comparing bad with bad doesn’t make one good or “better” – bad baseball is bad baseball, period. I’m tired of people forgetting this.

The “eye” test does not show JD as being “awful defensively”. I would never consider him a gold glover, but solid is not a bad description. As for your range, its obviously limited to someone else’s description of his defense. Defensive metrics have to ASSUME what an outfielder shoulda, coulda, woulda. Having actually watched the games, I am able to consider what they are saying, and then choose, in this instance, to disagree with it.

Uhhh, he can’t be a “a Tiger for life” because he was with the Astros for some of his life.
Smart fella!

I’m sure he’ll be upset when he reads this.

Ya that ship has sailed. I laughed at that line too

That JD’s line, not Jeff’s.
