Greene has struggled of late. Lowe has struggled all season. Alex Wilson is decent, but not great. Rondon is untested, and just getting out of the dog house. Why in the world did the Tigers not call up Jimenez?!

God I hate the way the Padres are run. Can you believe they are giving Adam Rosales serious playing time this late in a lost season with a multitude of better options both up in the bigs and on this here list? Why??? They should have DFA’d him weeks ago.

Rosales is an infielder. The guys mentioned in this post for the Padres were two outfielders and a catcher. They have no blue-chip, Major League ready infield prospects.

Isn’t Asuaje an infielder?

Scratch that, I didn’t notice they mentioned him.
With Asuaje being Rule 5 eligible, you can count on him getting called up once the AAA playoffs are over. But it will be hard for him to get regular playing time if Schimpf keeps doing what he’s doing.

This might be why the Padres are going to have a showcase at Petco at the end of the MLB season for their prospects. I might actually go watch after reading this article. Hopefully the Chicken can entertain us during the down time.

None of the players who will be with the delegation from instructs are going to appear on this list for at least two (and in some cases, six) years. The Padres have 74 players in the instructional league program; 11 are older than 21, There are more guys under the age of 18 than there are players who’ve seen an at-bat or inning in High-A.
Also, Ted Giannoulas has appeared at one Padres event in the last 15 years.

All of those Padres will probably be called up at the end of the week after the PCL playoffs end. No point in gutting that team now.
