Wonder if the writers sleep. It’s 4 in the morning lol.

Not here in Alaska!
But seriously, winter meetings just started so I assume they are writing around the clock.
Connor Byrne
Correct. We’re going 24 hours a day during the meetings.

Could be on a timed delay for the post to actually publish. Or they’re on the west coast

The Royals and Cardinals seem like a good match to fill positions each other are weak in. They definitely would be able work together on an even basis.

Cain for Wrong?
Dyson for Duda?
Escobar/Duffy to Dodgers for Vergo and others?
smelliott00
I agree with you 100%. I don’t know if the rivalry would prevent them from trading with each other, but they seem to be a match on a lot of intriguing pieces. Also, I don’t see any way the Royals trade Hosmer. He is the heart and soul of the team.
Freddie Morales
I absolutely see the Mets being in on Cain and Hosmer. Huge glaring needs, short term deal, surplus of SP to deal. Cain is a target, hosmer more of a wish
Ad-Rock
Cain is good, so obviously he would be a strong addition, but how does he fill a “huge, glaring need” for the Mets? If anything, they need to get rid of an outfielder.
Freddie Morales
A true CF is something they do not have on the roster. Lagares is the only one capable of playing CF defensively. The Mets could trade Bruce, Duda. Go with Conforto at 1B, Grandy in RF. Plus another RH bat in the lineup would be great!!

Crazy that all the core guys for the royals are all free agents at the same time

I would like to see the Pirates offer some prospects to KC for Duffy.
bretthof99
The Royals problem is pitching. Shakey starters and injuries hurt but a healthy team even minus morales can and should be productive. If they’re playing good ball by the all star break I think we will see them stay quiet around the trade deadline. I wouldn’t look into seeing them move any core guys before then.
DodgersBaseball23
Dodgers should be trying to ship Puig to KC with prospects for Davis and Cain. Aside from an injury, Cain can mash and is solid in the field as well. Davis speaks for himself. Puts less pressure to bring back a big closer at $25 million a year or whatever these guys are asking for.
Blue_Painted_Dreams_LA
I would love Cain but the Dodgers don’t have the MLB talent to obtain him or at least something that wouldn’t destroy the team. In which the Royals want legitimate major league talent with more than the three years. They would also have to drain the system and be back in the same exact position they are in now. If they are going to give up such a package they might as well target Eaton. Puig’s not going to fetch much at all by himself and would be a throw in a big package.
jdgoat
Anyone else think whoever signs hosmer next year is going to have one of the worst contracts in the league. Dudes barely league average, yet he’s going to want over 100 million. Yikes
Ad-Rock
Seriously, I don’t understand the love affair with Hosmer. He’s good every other year, and seems like s douche to boot.
mdbaseball05
I wonder what it would take for the Nats to get Davis. I heard a proposal not long ago mentioning Fedde plus another. Any ideas?
