_kherz23

staypuft
Real knee slapper man
erauber
I thought it was not abad joke
halofan20
Lmao
nccubsfan 2
I thought abad making a similar joke but deemed it to be abad idea.
Ok, can we officially retire Abad puns from MLBTR?
pukelit
No
Bald Vinny
After watching him pitch last season, he should be use to losing.
sufferforsnakes
Abad must be a mad about this decision.
CubanRaftRider
Could’ve seen this one coming a mile away, especially after posting a 6.39 era in a Sox uni, he’s lucky he wasn’t non-tendered
Phillies2017
All of these puns are giving me a bad headache
josher50
Boys/girls…sometimes it’s fun to go the obvious and cliched route. It’s called ashy but classy. Baseballfan90 vindicated!

“Defeat” makes it sound like Dombrowski and Abad went into a law office and wrestled.

Didn’t you know? That’s how they do it. They either go into a ring themselves or designate a champion to fight for them. The winner names the price.
InPolesWeTrust
It was a tag team match.
start_wearing_purple
I thought they only did that for 8-digit matches?
johnsilver
Now the Sox can continue his losing streak and DFA him during ST since he’s not even one of the 7 best relievers they have anyway. Why they chose to go to arbitration and pay this guy 2m is really a mystery.. Loss of Pat Light wasn’t much, but watching Abad pitch in any MLB games in 2017 will be when they have better options.in house.
soxfan1
They only have to pay a partial amount of his salary if they release him
Pedro Cerrano's Voodoo
Can’t believe he expected his salary to more than double after the way he pitched
aff10
To be fair, he did pitch quite well in Minnesota. He was ok overall
Pedro Cerrano's Voodoo
Night and day first half versus second half. Fair enough he pitched well for the Twins but he’s asking the team he sucked for to pay him. I’m surprised he wasn’t non tendered
aff10
Yeah I know. Not super exciting of a player, but I do think he’s probably worth about $2 million to round out a bullpen. I don’t think the arbitrators factor in half-season splits
NicTaylor
Lol, fell shy of expectations… that’s putting it nicely. He’s like the Joe Blanton of the AL East…
xabial
Haha Would have been awesome, if we knew the Red Sox brought up MLBTR’s projected arbitration salary to defend their case
Wonder if there is a way to know
MLBTR backs up claims with good evidence
