Hopefully his surgery holds up and provides an alternative to TJ surgery. I’m hoping he plays well enough and makes the Royals roster.
KCelts
Wow. If he can make it back so quickly, this would be one of the biggest stories in baseball.

If Maness doesn’t make the club out of camp, but stick in the Royals system for a few months, does the $1.25 get prorated or is it treated like a bonus and he gets the lump?
Steve Adams
He’d get the pro-rated version of $1.25MM. Prior to that, he’d get whatever Minor League salary they agreed upon in the deal. (The Minors portion is rarely, if ever, reported because it’s relatively minimal.)
CompanyAssassin
He won’t be missed.

I’ll miss him a little bit. But I understand that Bowman made him redundant.

Man, how far as the Royals bullpen fallen from 2 years ago.
Blech

The names have changed – but they will still have an above average if not very good pen.

Agreed

If he recovers to old form, its a heck of a bargain. If not, they aren’t out very much. Hard to go wrong on that one.

Thank you Mr. Maness for several solid years in St. Louis. I wish you the best of luck in forcing hitters to pound the ball into the ground.
EndinStealth
If it’s successful can we call it S&M surgery?

Are the Royals trying to sign every ex-Cardinal?
