You just don’t see that often. A player doing all he can to stay with the team that picked him up while he was slumping badly, even if it meant for less money than he would have got elsewhere. Good on you, Carlos. Hope it works out for both sides in the long run.

Gomez prob had other offers but for at least half the money. Of course he was gonna take the money and stay
kc38
They Extremely overpaid lol. Why was he not gonna stay exactly. Pretty easy choice correct
Breezy
Seeing his massive improvement after going to Texas, you don’t know what type of offers he had on the table, and from how many different teams. I also wouldn’t say they overpaid at all, because the price tag on everyone has skyrocketed. Brandon Moss and Matt Holliday both just got paid a bit more than Gomez on 1yr deals.
jbigz12
In what world do you live in that you think Brandon moss got a 1 year deal worth $12 mil?
Breezy
Excuse me, 2 years.

What happened to Gomez wanting to retire as a Brewer.
bluejays4life
They traded him.

Exactly

let’s be honest these guys are dealing with millions of dollars it’s not exactly like they’re taking a major cut in money just being honest
daruba
So you’d be cool with not getting, say, 3 extra million, which you could just give to your siblings to set their children for life, in addition to all you’ve done for your immediate family? Yeah, ok.
daruba
“Sorry sis, I know I could’ve set your children’s children up for college and a home before they’re even born, but I’m already making a few mill”
baseballdeez
Nobody cares about your sisters great grandchildren. Every player is different. Some will pass up 3M to be in a certain situation at a certain point in their lives. Others will always chase the dollar. Anybody with a logical thought process would understand this

At the beginning of the 2016 season when the Astros were at miller Gomez said he wanted to retire as a Brewer because the organization was patient with him and have hime a chance.
NickThulen
*gave him a chance
