Six hotels in one year is nothing.
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention stayed in 200 Motels on one tour — and they had more hits than Jay Bruce….

Double plus like!

Lesterdnightfly, best MLBTR post ever. ‘Are you worried…’
wiggysf
I agree
johnsilver
I would be if Zappa was eating the yellow snow…

Greatest post in the history of this site. I was just listening to You are what you is.

Batting .219 in a short stretch can happen to any great hitter regardless of what else was happening.
Some people worry about their wives and infant children when separated, some people don’t. He’s a good guy and I’m sure if you ask him, he wouldn’t make any excuses for his slump.

Wow just wow Bruce couldn’t have just buy his NYC apartment when he got traded he was making mad money in the reds organization
mike156
Not quite so simple. There are a lot of apartments in the naked city, and if you don’t live here, and you don’t have time, and you haven’t decided (with one year+ year left on your contract and hearing you could get traded again) whether your family is going to uproot..
Hotel living is weird but remember he was traded with two months to go in the season.

mike156, I read cesthebes1214’s post three times and still can’t make head nor tail of it. Kudos to you for trying to reply to it.

But after all the Mets have 3 outfielders that are good that hopefully will succeed in 2017
Armaday
How much of that do you actually think Zappa remembers?
A'sfaninUK
Not to sound like a jerk, but Jay Bruce has a 0.2 WAR over his last 441 games. He actually shouldn’t be an Opening Day starter somewhere, because he’s bad at baseball now, and has been since he turned 27.

Don’t fool yourself. Barring an injury or major regression Cueto is opting out.

it’s amazing how some players like vilar seem to forget the teams that are giving them another chance when he could easily been out of baseball not somebody I think we need to put a team around
davbee
Villar isn’t “forgetting” anybody, nor was he remotely close to being out of baseball. He’s betting on himself, which benefits the Brewers in the short term and himself in the long term. Milwaukee is getting a bargain if Villar puts up a couple more seasons like he had in 2016.

it’s also amazing how some baseball fans STILL side with owners over players by posting comments like this
fisher40
You really need to know your facts on villar. He wasn’t almost out of baseball. Far from it actually

Bruce needs extra trainers
