I wonder why not just keep him as minor league depth
datrain021
Probably had an opt out in his contract
Monkey’s Uncle
The fact that the Rays are making this move so early in camp suggests to me that they know they won’t have room for Eveland in AAA, maybe they have a number of younger guys they want to look at. By releasing him now, Tampa is doing him a big favor in giving him more time to latch on somewhere else and get a chance to get some spring innings in to try and earn a job there.

He’ll latch on somewhere that needs cheap lefty help
Maybe the As, twins, marlins. Etc
Major or minor
Who knows.
A .30 era is redic, but he wouldn’t put those number up in the pcl.

Eveland must have a colorful closet.

Praise baby jesus!

Cleveland should sign Eveland just for the entertainment of all the wordplay that would result.
