Not even sure anyone bothers with Jumbo at this point.
lesterdnightfly
Not so. The Bengals could use another defensive tackle.

Dude throws 100. Someone will pick him up
jgreen2487
Throws a hundred and it passes the catcher.. man is out of control at that speed.

wouldn’t mind seeing him come to Toronto. at this point, I think Russell martin can fix just about anyone!

16 Abs this spring with a HR and we already DFA him. I know he wasn’t killing it, but gezz. harsh business to cut the guy you just claimed roughly 2 weeks ago.
NL_East_Rivalry
They were hoping to sneak him through waivers and keep him

Jumbo Diaz’s spring training performance must have sealed his fate. The Reds could have claimed Walker two weeks ago, but didn’t. That Cincinnati kept Nefi Ogando on the 40-man and designated Diaz, who has been terrible this spring, tells me they’ve seen enough of the big man.

Jumbo did quite a lot for the Cubs team batting average in 2016. He’ll be missed in Chicago.

Jumbo Diaz vs. the Cubs in 2016: 20 AB, 3 hits. BA against of .150. Allowed two walks and struck out six.

FINALLY won a championship, and still losing debates. Lol

Jumbo sealed his own fate when he decided to leave camp for limited use in the WBC . Nothing wrong with representing your country in the WBC but when its clear that you aren’t ready to produce this season and you are supposed to be in competition for a spot in the bullpen that should be the priority . Coming off of a season where he had surrenderd several leads been given more chances than most , to leave camp to go to a situation where it was evident he wasn’t going to get the amount of work needed to be ready for April told the Reds he may never be willing to give his big league career the attention it deserves .
Nothing wrong with the WBC if you are established in a ML role and going to get your reps in . For Jumbo it was a horrible decision

The WBC takes away from baseball, MLB baseball that is! Wait until a front line star gets injured in it! It needs to be after the season and for the minor leaguers only! All it does is increase workload and cause unnecessary injuries in the current year or year to follow for the pitchers that pitch in it. Jumbo sealed his fate by choosing the WBC over the Reds! Hopefully he clears waivers!
