I have also looked at Doug Fister.
vinscully16
… well played.
GeauxRangers
Was going to make this joke but you beat me to it. Well played
Whos123
Colby Lewis is a better option
RyanR
Yes he is. Agreed
metseventually 2
“Hmm, I’d rate that booty 6/10”
Vinny Time
Not sure how Fister remains available ahead of Ed Jackson.
strostro
Fister won’t take a minor league deal and Edwin Jackson did
hozie007
He’s good for 160 innings…
hojostache
I’d rather they not spend a 40-man spot on him. The Mets have some minor league options, but I get why they are at least kicking the tires out there. On a minor league deal Fister is a far easier sell.
metseventually 2
I’d much rather have Fister than Gilmartin.
bastros88
Fister was really bad with the astros last season I think I’d rather have Gilmartin, who at least can be optioned down
astros_fan_84
Fister was bad in the 2nd half. He was good through the All Star break.
Phillies2017
Actually, he was only really rough in September. 6 bad September starts.
sddew
I’m surprised Fister remains unsigned, even with holding out for a major league deal. Seems he and his 180 IP would’ve been a better choice for the Padres than Weaver at least.
frankthetank1985
Good thing the Mets have Gabriel ynoa as a backup option. Oh wait, they gave him up for a bag of balls.
wdwyer
Agreed that was a stupid move.
acarneglia
If the Mets had a healthy rotation of Matz, DeGrom, Harvey, Syndergaard, Wheeler, Gsellman, and Fister they’d no doubt win the NL East
TomG
I’ve never personally looked at Doug Foster but I have seen several Robert Maplethorp paintings.
majorflaw
That’s kinda odd. Seeing as how Mapplethorpe was a noted photographer. Where did you see these alleged paintings?
TomG
Ehhhh….late night posting (hence, also not catching spellcheck changing Fister to Foster) but still I’m assuming you get the reference
jd396
And Pelfrey already has a job
1tav
They need another lefty if they’re just going to get some guy. Gilmartin fits the bill better than Fister does.
ob32
Foster could help the team eat innings once they need to limit someone or someone goes down. It’s inevitable and why not get the best available guy for cheap like Reyes last year and not pay a Bruce price at the deadline
Deanohig
Could John Neise be far behind?
