This has to be one of the most biased articles ive read on this website. Dbacks never get any love from any media source…..
Senioreditor
And they’re NOT stocked with emerging talent. They do have some decent talent but hardly stocked.
booboo123
They ARE both stocked with emerging talent. Just a statement like that takes any credibility away from you. Let me guess Dodger or Giant fan? My team is in the American League and I can see the Diamondbacks are loaded!!! I have no dog in the fight.
lesterdnightfly
Biased against the D’Backs? Huh?
“…both teams are stocked with emerging talent.”
“…the influx of young talent and return of injured stars in both Colorado and Arizona at least gives both clubs optimism that they could soon return to contention.”
It says that the D’Backs have cause for optimism. The only caveat is a possible injury to Shelby Miller, which is based in fact.
Did you expect someone to anoint the D’Backs as NL West champs with 90 percent of the season left?
Show us any “bias” please.
booboo123
Boy you spent all the time repeating the writer? Get a life and get over it both teams are for real.

Btw the artcile was edited adter my original post so

Win something and you’ll get love.

I dunno we have a ws championship, we have won our division quite a few times, although nothing recently.

Dbags
the former gm destroyed this teams future
It’s going to take them many many years to rebound
Andrew Cromack
I would expect this kinda class from a dodger fan but come on padres fan?
bobby2chainz
Agreed. I’m quite disappointed to see this comment; however, it’s important to remember he doesn’t represent all Padres fans.
padreforlife
“Feel sorry for Rockies fans” from the ignorant Padre fan

Giant’s farm is very weak because of the success over the last 8 years of draft picks. I do doubt Sabean will take a knee and throw away the season. Sabean needs the ticket sells so he will keep them competitive for as long as possible. Belt and Span should be on the trade list too. Get rid of all the over paid players will give them money to spend next season.
dodgerfan711
That doesent make any sense. The giants just cant find a way to draft top prospects. Success has nothing to do with it because you can find talent anywhere in the first 10 rounds of the draft. Mike trout, seager, goldschmidt, betts, arenado the list can go on were not players who were drafted extremely high. Giants scouting just has not been good recently
chesteraarthur
While I understand your point, you’ve just named 5 players over the course of the last 8 or so years, with there being ~300 people drafted between rounds 1-10 in each year. That’s 5/2400. And I know you said there are more examples, and there are (many are giants players), but those simply aren’t good odds of doing it.
The giants have seemed to find some useful players over the last few years. They got belt in the 5th round of 2009. They got panik with pick 29. Matt Duffy was drafted in the 18th round. And brandon belt was drafted in the 4th round in 2008. I’d say the giants have actually done a pretty decent job at finding talent with less than premium picks.
There have been a few studies done on this, the higher picks do generally tend to produce more MLB value.
giant
Panik,posey, Crawford, belt,bumgarner ….really don’t know how to draft …lol
dodgerfan711
The comment said 8 years. Panik is the only one drafted in that time. However i think its bobby evans that is their problem. Since he took over giants have made alot of bad moves
mrnatewalter
What bad moves have the Giants made under Evans? Seriously, other than the Samardzija deal (which was still a fine deal), most of the moves he’s made have been great.
dodgerfan711
Samardzijas deal is a disaster. Forfeiting a 1st round pick, 90 million and medicore performance. Its not a “fine” deal. Ok but lets keep going. Mike leake trade was a disaster. Will smith trade was bad. Casey McGheee trade was bad. Spans contract is bad. He has made so many poor decisions
billymayshere
Bingo, I’m a giants fan and I am sick of these fake fans who probably moved here from the Midwest and became giants fans in 10′. Real fans expect results from their teams ! Giants have 100 million payroll and this is the product we get !? Gimme a break, go back to the Midwest punk , I’m born and raised in the bay area and have been a giants die hard for 31 years – that means I have seen ALOT More bad giants teams then good , but since you are new to baseball you wouldn’t understand , you have only been a fan for 6-7 years
jonnyblah
Relax, dude. Quit trolling Giants fans. Just quit trolling in general.
lesterdnightfly
billymayshere:
Someone evidently doesn’t like anyone from the Midwest. Especially since he knows that each and every one of them have been fans for only 6-7 years.
Looks like your ranting “omniscience” doesn’t equate with tolerance.
bkwalker510
As an A’s fan, there are few things I enjoy more than watching the Giants suck. Welcome back to reality, band wagoners!
ABStract
The always classy Oakland fan pointing out that most of their fans went over to swell the ranks of Giants in the last 7yrs, priceless.
Be mad at your ownership, not the Giants…talk about misplaced anger.
Meanwhile, actually classy Giants fans wish the A’s the best of luck in the 2017 season and in getting a new stadium.
mrnatewalter
The best thing to happen to Oakland in the last decade has been Moneyball. How’s that for a dose of reality?
jonnyblah
As a Giants fan, I’ve never had a problem pulling for the A’s. Why are some A’s fans so resentful? They have had lots of success over the decades in Oakland and I really hope they get the park they deserve. Commenter must still be young with misplaced local pride.
billymayshere
They are second class fans and they know it . Giants are big market and the triple A’s are small market. Its called small man’s complex and the triple A’s fans suffer from it immensely
billymayshere
Lol the last time the the triple A’s won a title I was 4. Enjoy your 15k fans a game lol
gilgunderson
The leaking Coliseum sewage has clearly had an effect.
LA91744
The Dodgers lost Kershaw around this time and still made it to the playoffs the Giants lost Madison but still have a good pitching staff
BlueSkyLA
Kershaw hit the DL last season at the end of June.

Baggarly or Cameron, Baggarly or Cameron… Hmm. Think I’ll go with the one who’s not the highly=paid troll writing for a regional newspaper.
