What’s the new rule with offering players a qualifying offer? Is it you get a draft pick but the signing team doesn’t have to give up a draft pick?

Teams over threshold lose a 2nd- & 5th-round pick. Under threshold: lose 3rd-round pick.

Too many questions to be a legitimate contender. They are the 8th or 9th best team in the AL, and unless teams like the Blue Jays and Indians suddenly forget how to play, they will be stuck in the middle.
The bad thing is that the farm system is not great and the guys that are coming up right now don’t seem to be game-changing players. A team full of average players is not going to get anywhere.

Way too many question marks in the bullpen. The Joakim Soria signing is looking even worse than it did last year (if thats even possible). The Royals are also going to need someone to step up offensively and take charge.
