I’m a little surprised that the Phillies haven’t gone after one of the veteran starters still on the market. Seems like a good match at first glance. They have the cash to pay them, the rotation isn’t so set that space couldn’t be made, and they could flip them to a contender in the season if they are any good.

I think colby Lewis would be a good match

Nah, they got enough young depth that they’ll be fine

The Milner transaction is backwards..Phils got him back after CLE returned him.
The urgency to make some trades will only be increasing .Phillies have logjams in the rotation, OF and prospects at 1B,2B,and JPC waiting at short in AAA. They also have Comcast money to burn. What they don’t have is very many elite prospects.

Greatest addition was Matt Stairs. I saw Franco go to 2 full counts yesterday. That was the first time he has ever gone deep in a count. I like every move besides Buchholz. I rather give Ben Lively a chance, but extra development never hurt anyone.

Farm system also looking great. Hoskins is the real deal and Kingery looks like he has some game. Bullpen is going to be quiet, but good after Gomez gets kicked out of late innings. Neeshek and Benoit are good additions to Neris and Ramos combo.

I might be I’m the minority, but I’m calling 91 wins and 2nd wild card.

There is a typo on Holaday in the notable minor league signings section.
