I’m sure all the mets fans would like to take back all they did to him, from the comments they made or the constant booing him when he batted
zachjcc
Yea I agree but in New York if you’re not doing what they want you to do you’re 100% gonna get booed
reflect
No? If you suck you get booed. He sucked and he got booed.
Now he doesn’t suck and that’s great but that doesn’t mean we were wrong for booing him when he was terrible last year.

Mike Schmidt got booed numoerous times in Philly by their fans
TheZink
Philly fans have never booed someone that didn’t need Boo-ing.

Santa Claus? Did Santa Claus deserve his booing the icy snowball barrage? Sure, those were Eagles fans but still… Santa??
cjelepis
Effing santa story. That was 60 years ago. Get over it. Read the history on the story, too, and you’ll realize he did deserve to get snowballed.

Lol
gocincy
That sounds like something Bill O’Reilly would say.

Who?
bsteady7
What is the santa story?

Awful comparison

Raul Mondesi got booed all the times

Starling marte will get booed by the home fans.
hiflew
No he won’t. He might get booed by road fans, but home fans forgive. Barry Bonds is still beloved in SF. Ryan Braun doesn’t get booed in Milwaukee.

The Mets need to not shoot themselves in the foot and strike while the iron (Bruce) is hot, esle they’re never going to get the type of offers they want.
Say Hey Now Kid
Yeah keep him for the season but not after that. 30 years old and in a contract year. No guarantee he will produce like this next year. Put that money toward a better contact hitter

Bruce got booed last year because he looked like a lower priced Jason Bay. It’ll be nice if he hit 25 homers for the Mets this year before he hits the free agent market.

He also said he didn’t want to play in NY
kbarr888
He didn’t want to play in NY because the fans are nasty, moody, and fickle as hell……………………….I guess he was right.
citizen
too many maybes and what ifs, though phouly “fans” definately would have booed him. slow news day?
staypuft
Maybe they didn’t want to take on more salary after the buchholz trade
jay13
The Mets need to get Conforto in the lineup more. Jay Bruce will entice someone needing a bat later. Mets will still cash in on him, just how well is still up in the air
gocincy
Maybe they should keep him. Cespedes seems to miss an awful lot of games.
kbarr888
If Conforto can handle CF for now, they should be sitting Grandy. He’s been terrible, especially as a leadoff guy. They need to showcase Bruce as much as possible……until he stops hitting……then sit him and try to trade him.
Say Hey Now Kid
I wouldn’t trade unless we look like we won’t make the playoffs then use him for a prospect. We need to replete the farm system
Muddywaters
Philly is a losing city. 4 teams and not many championships.
