Good for him. It took him so long to get back to being able to pitch again. I don’t think he will be very effective, but maybe he will have a positive effect on the young pitchers.

Good luck to a real professional and a fan favorite!

Age ends the game. As a Mets fan I always respected him. I’d like to see him pitch decent and when he’s ready leave on his terms

Over or under 35 strike outs this year

Over. I’m guessing he will end up pitching close to 100 innings (combined between rotation and bullpen), maybe more.

As Nats fan -wish him good luck.Looked promising last year -til injury bud cropped up again

Watch him suddenly be good and lead a rotation with Garrett-Finnegan-Davis-Feldman to the postseason. Gotta admit, that’s a pretty intriguing rotation, we all kinda forgot how big a prospect Finnegan was but he threw a heckuva game this week, 88 pitches, 7 IP 0 ER 1 BB 9 K. Thats an ace-level performance right there.
If Garrett and Finnegan are excellent all year then the Reds are definitely looking like a dark horse right now, and even more so in 2018.

You could pretty much say that for any team, that if two of their mid rotation guys are “excellent” then they would be dark horses.

WHAT..you can’t be serious! Today against the Cards 4innings 6ER 4BB a 13.50 ERA. That’s all he is anymore and signing him is just an example of what a dumpster fire the Reds have turned into. This team needs a serious management shakeup, from the FO down to the field!
redsfan48
Overreact much? One bad start shouldn’t change expectations. I still see him being a solid 4.00-4.50 ERA innings eater and clubhouse leader until Disco and Bailey are healthy. And honestly he didn’t pitch that bad except for the 2 HR by Aledmys Diaz.

Not overreacting just being real. Dude was out of baseball failing to be signed by anyone who realized he was done. So the Reds sign him..that speaks to the sad state they are in.
