Should Have Acquired Dylan Cease
Reasonable?
Braves get: Yelich and Barraclough
Marlins get: Ian Anderson, Acuna, another mid level prospect.
redsfan48
No, that’s an awful deal for the Marlins.
Megadro2000
Not even reasonable ahahah
casualatlfan
And this is why people think Braves’ fans are nuts. No, that’s not reasonable whatsoever.
Mjm117
MLB ready talent is needed to pry Yelich away from the Fish.
pukelit
That would never happen. I would bet Swanson or Albies would have to be involve to get Yellich

Send Harvey to Boston… for Matt Barnes

Pass.

Not gonna lie, there hasn’t been anything in baseball that has ever made me as mad as the Verlander-porcello Cy young event last year. Totally messed up.
start_wearing_purple
I know people are still stunned by that but the simple fact of the matter is there was NO clear favorite for AL Cy Young last year. Porcello basically won because he wasn’t the least favorite choice. It was a toss up entirely. A solid argument could have made for Verlander or Kluber or Porcello. Any stat that could be brought up about one could be countered by a different one by any of the others. So get over it.
Want to whine about a Cy Young year, try 2005 Bartolo Colon winning over Mariano Rivera or Johan Santana.
lucienbel
I have to agree with this. Admittedly a Red Sox fan, but any of the three could have one. It was quite a coin toss, with each pitcher mentioned above having a shot. Porcello won, and I suppose it’s one of those moments votes really counted, vs. any one particular statistic that would have.

Baseball Hot Corner, Frank Pimentel says i his article: “If the Mets are serious about trading Harvey, they will undeniably have many takers for his services,” Of course I’m no GM but, I’m thinking just “Stay away from this guy…”
At such a young age, he’s already shown a loss in velocity, he’s injury prone, he’s currently suspended for breaking team rules but worse, his overall off-field actions have owners, management and his peers openly vexed over his childish, self serving “act”.
Say Hey Now Kid
He may be worth it to a team in “win now” mode who is known to overpay for someone risky that may put them over the edge.
The irony is that Mets would need to trade now because in a month there will be other pitchers on the block better than he is. But since the Mets aren’t out yet that would be a mistake.
I’ve said for a while the Mets need to trade Harvey after this year because they can’t afford to resign him anyway

2016 Aaron Judge: Too small a sample size to say this is who he is.
2017 Aaron Judge: This is who he is.

“Baseball Hot Corner opines that the impatience of fans, not pace of play, is the sport’s problem.”
“It’s not our product. It’s our customers. Our customers suck. They need to change.”
Good luck with that, Man.

Just curious to know: what would Yankees fans think an acceptable offer for Gerrit Cole would be?
