I hope Dre retires this year. That way he can retire as a Dodger, stay with his family, and stay healthy. Body isn’t holding up like it used too.

Yeah, it is really unfortunate what all Ethier has had to endure over the past several seasons. He had some struggles throughout his previous years, but for the most part, when truly healthy, Ethier was a reliable, steady force in that Dodgers lineup.
Now, I follow baseball with a close eye, but by no means am I an expert on the Dodgers nor their clubhouse. With that being said, still I’m sure everyone in the Dodgers clubhouse is rooting for Ethier to get back to full health. I could be wrong, but he has always seemed like an excellent and selfless teammate down in LA, and he’d be the type of guy every team wants in their lineup and in their clubhouse…
Best of luck to Ethier as he tries to make it back to the show. I doubt he will ever be the same player he once was, but hopefully he can give it a real go for at least another year or two before he ultimately calls it a career.. He certainly deserves better than being unable to walk away on his own terms!!

Ethier started out with a reputation for being kind of thin-skinned and moody but in recent years he’s really grown up with the game. Sadly that maturation came along with a bunch of really tough breaks (literally). I’d like to see him get a shot at a last hurrah with the Dodgers. Maybe later in the summer.

And you’ll lose a future batting champion and get 85-95 games a year out of RF!

Right now there’s nobody on the planet who gets you Bellinger.

Not even Trout or Harper?
GeoKaplan
Yes, there are trades to be made for Bellinger. Just none that wouldn’t leave the other party unscathed. As stated before, the Dodgers would trade him for Trout in a second; maybe not Harper, since his team control is only a few more years.
Bellinger is talented, but far from untouchable.
BlueSkyLA
I don’t see Trout as a particularly viable trade target, if only due to the huge ticket in his pocket for over $110M for the next three seasons plus whatever he’d be owed for the balance of this year. Bellinger could very well be a similar quality player, but with 6-7 years of team control ahead. Nobody is ever untouchable, but some are pretty darn close. Bellinger is as close untouchable this year as Seager was last year. All those imagined trades involving Seager didn’t happen, and neither will any involving Bellinger. The reasons for their teams to keep them are just too compelling.

That would be an awesome trade!!! … for the Marlins…
