I was pitching in a high school game last year and took a liner off my jaw. I had a broken jaw and the swelling and pain were awful. I made it back though this year, but that never leaves your mind. If these guys can make it back then they deserve all the applause in MLB.

I’m sure Ianetta will be back sometime within the next month or two. As for the other guy I honestly don’t know because brain related things are pretty serious and if he needed surgery that couldn’t have been pretty

Can’t imagine what you and this pitcher have had to go through. Good for you making it back….. best to you!
Begs the question that pitchers should wear some kind of head protection. Someone seriously is going to be seriously debilitated or killed with the increased exit velocities off bats at all levels of high school baseball and up.

Even playing in England, with the fastest pitchers unlikely to touch 80mph, when a ball whizzes close to your nose, you wince. For you guys facing the really quick stuff… yankees500 and Ianetta, stay safe.

I was hit in the face with a donut. On deck batters should not use fungoes while warming up.

“Yea, Chris basically had his face broken. Dunno if we are going to put him on the DL though. I mean it’s only his face, right?”

the person why plays the organ music for the d-backs is a savage tho.
