please extend him. probably a cheap sign for a plus right fielder and a maturing hitter. Redick is smart and patient at the plate and has an arm that most base coaches won’t test.

Beane and Rick Hahn need to have some phone conversations immediately….

This is the most thinly veiled trade request I’ve ever seen.

Players do this all the time, Bautista and Encarnacion did the same thing a month ago. It just means they want insurance of a long term deal because there’s no guarantee they endure a catastrophic injury or have a down year that ruins their earning potential.

Reddick is a much better player than is Gardner. Power, glove 2 things highly valued in this day and age on the market, not to mention Reddick would hit 35-40HR’s every year were he to play for the Yankees and have the luxury of Yankee stadium for 81 games.
I think 5/75m would be a gift to the A’s if he accepted.

Beans is all about himself being the story, not the team. Can’t wait to see how he turns this into more “Beane Time”.

Unless the A’s are willing to pay market value there is no reason for Reddick to sign an extension. He would probably be one of the top 5 FAs next offseason, and would have the chance to play for a team that actually has a real baseball stadium.

Reddick is not a very good baseball player. He’s not worth an extension.

When someone can cut their strikeouts from 150 something to 65 and can hit for a .280 average and has 25 homer potential and plays great defense in right, I’d say he’s a damn good ball player and if he isn’t very good then he wouldn’t have lasted this long in the bigs, he’s no superstar but he’s damn good
restinpeacebraves
He had a fluke year in 2015. I guarantee you the A’s either trade him or let him walk. A .250 career batting average and OK defense shouldn’t command a substantial contract. And he only eclipsed the 25-home run mark once, so it’s far-fetched to claim he’s a power hitter.
He needs to play for Colorado to make his offensive numbers look their best.
