Can’t be any worse then Reyes so far…
CompanyAssassin
Has reyes been doing poorly? I haven’t watched the mets really but I thought i heard reyes was somewhat of a pleasant surprise or something.
livinlarge
Ether pleasant surprise was last year. This year so far only a pleasant surprise for opposing pitchers. He is 1 for 25 batting.

Reyes success is like a-rod two years ago. Now Father Time has caught up and he’s too old and washed up. Game over.
theruns
Or the other option is that he’s in this thing called a “slump”.
It’s this crazy event where major league hitters look lost for 20-30 AB’s.
pjmcnu
Nice! I hope we get the captain back soon.
mikeyank55
The Wilpons don’t share your hopes. They have their fingers crossed that he will realize there’s nothing left in the gas tank and retire due to injuries so that they can collect the insurance $

I wonder what the Mets want with Wright. Obviously, they would love a healthy, high performing, face-of-the-franchise Wright. But short of that, Wright’s contract is insured after he’s out 60 or more days. Mets have been cost-conscious for a while. A limited Wright who can get back on the field, barely? Are the Mets supportive of that type of contribution?

I would be absolutely amazed if Wright plays in ten games by the All-Star break. I’d love to have him back, but with all of his issues let’s just say I’m doubtful he contributes much of anything this season (and most likely in the future).

Great news. He should be back in another month or two just in time to hit the DL again.

Years ago when they chose Wright over Reyes he became the face of the Franchise. Good player good man. But sadly I see him more if a coach or front office guy. With his spine issue most of us regular folks would be lucky to do simple stuff pain free. He’s a high level athlete. The contract insurance will pick up. I see him retiring
lesterdnightfly
No matter what the Mets’ problem is, it’s obviously Sandy’s fault.
hojostache
I doubt he contributes much this year. The best case scenario for the Mets is that he stays on the DL and they collect the insurance $. I hope for David he can eventually retire and not be in pain/have problems for the rest of his life. Spinal stenosis is a hard to predict dx.
jmaggio76
wish he’d just retire already.
love my mets, but was never sold on wright.
IMO highly overrated. just gonaway. could’ve tried getting Longoria instead of dealing with this headache
