Scott Kazmir what a terrible fall from grace. Used to be one of my favorite pitchers to watch when he had his A game.
Matt Talbert
Here’s a rotation for you (this is a funny):
A.J. Burnett, Carlos Zambrano, Scott Kazmir, Mark Prior, Rich Harden
RP: Blaine Boyer, Scott Proctor, Scott Linebrink, Kevin Gregg, Danny Kolb
michael
An arbitrary list of pitchers constitutes a funny?
cards2WS
I’m guessing that’s a list of pitchers that were dominant for awhile, but hit a wall pretty quickly. Correct?
michael
Even then, these guys aren’t exactly apples to apples. Plus Gregg was never really dominant, and Linebrink had a nice long run as far as relievers go.
101andcounting
Sounds about right – there are four ex-Cubs on that list.
Justin Huey
If you have to tell people that it’s funny in the joke, you might need a better joke.
Paul Ip
“Kazmir is considering the team that originally drafted him”… His t-ball team actually wants him back ???
LUWahooNatFan
You know your team is terrible when Kazmir has a good shot at being in the rotation at some point
demille
aw come on the nats are not that far from when we would be thinking of doing something like this don’t boast the nats haven’t proven anything yet
michael
Speaking as a Mets fan, I’m totally comfortable with Nationals fans making fun of the Mets rotation. Then we can talk about the Werth contract and the Bay contract and have some whiskey together.
LUWahooNatFan
That’s a positive way of looking at it haha
michael
He doesn’t have a good shot at being in anyone’s rotation. He’s done. Steve Avery 2.0.
MetsMagic
Livan Hernandez, John Patterson, John Lannan, and Odalis Perez. Those are the Nationals’ aces to date. Yeah, I went there. Be careful, or Strasburg will be in the Yankees bullpen before you know it.
LUWahooNatFan
And of all those pitchers, John Lannan is the only one with potential of pitching in D.C. this year, and he’s likely to be traded if not stashed in AAA
Joveoak
Whoever gets Kazmir, it would be just depth, insurance for pitcher injuries, etc.
michael
In the movie State and Main, someone says, “An associate producer credit is what you give your secretary instead of a raise.” It looks like that’s what the Phillies did with Wolever.

And here I thought I was one of the only people in the world to see that movie. “Go You Huskies!”
rsanchez1
Come on Marlins, you’re really gonna have me believe you were ready to drop $260M on Pujols, but you’re cheaping out on pretty much everyone else in your organization. Come on Marlins.
bigpat
Why do they have to pay more than minimum for pre-arb players? I don’t get it. I guess it’s like forcing people to give a generous tip.
michael
Sure, but if you leave a 0% tip and go back to the restaurant, you’re asking for poor service or a spit burger. Good faith begets good faith.
escapingNihilism
last thing the Mets need is Kazmir. would be a media frenzy. the last thing this team needs is another ghost.
