Hate to be a nitpicker, but AT&T and Dish actually did carry the padres last season. Time Warner was the lone holdout. You’re thinking the previous year. This will be Fox Sports San Diego’s third year.

Fair to raise, and thanks for doing so. I failed to notice that the Thurm piece was from 2012.

Even though Time Warner has finally come around I will still gladly keep my anti Time-Warner sticker posted up right next to my Padres sticker in my truck window.

I really like the signing of Benoit for the Padres. If the Padres get a bit more luck with the injury bug this year and the addition of Johnson and Benoit, they should be in contention for a Wild Card berth. Josh Byrnes is a smart guy and I am sure he has some Quants doing the numbers on what Benoit’s output would do to the Padres won-loss record. The Padres also have Vincent emerging as a very dependable 7th inning guy and a starting rotation very capable of going 6-7+ innings of dominant baseball. It is going to be hard for teams to come into PETCO Park and win.
