There are probably some kids reading this story that weren’t born when Rivera last played in the big leagues. I remember him as being right up there with Jeter in terms of Yankees prospects. Just another cautionary tale about not all top prospects working out.

I like to personally say: Who?

And that was the worst base running in the history of the game!! Lol.. I remember when that scandal broke about Jeter’s glove getting stolen.. Never mess with an infielder’s glove..

I first read that as Ruben Sierra retires. Of course, anyone that appeared in a 1987 Topps card should think about hanging up the spikes.

That was a sweet card. It’s one of my all time favorites. The wooden boarder is classic.

T’hem’s’ were some 2 run shots all right in 1999 23 home runs, 48 rbi’s Have a wonderful, well I was gonna’ say evening but good morning Ruben; glad you had as much baseball fun as possible.

So since he’s officially retired, he goes on the 2016 HOF ballot? Watch out Junior and Trevor!

One of the first prospect for prospect deals of my memory. The overzealous reactions of fans to the recent Cuban talent migration is reminescent of owners and GMs of the 90s acting on the Japanese infusion to MLB
