Why? The guy is Matt Cain II….couple decent years but those are long gone

Matt Cain had a couple of great years

WTF? Matt Cain had a lot of great seasons waisted with poor run support. He still had enough in the tank to be a key contributor to 3 WS titles, plus a perfect game. usafcop obviously knows nothing about the game. Not sure why I even bothered to respond…

This guy gets a lot more flak than he deserves. A 4.84 ERA isn’t great, but it’s not that terrible either. If you put him on San Diego, he would arguably be their best current starter. He deserves to be in the big leagues somewhere, maybe not on a strong playoff team’s roster, but he is definitely better than minor league fodder right now.

It’s a pretty low-risk, high-reward potential move…if Latos continues to be a mediocrity, what have the Nats lost?

Am I the only person surprised Latos is still only 28? I know he is a clubhouse cancer but still, that’s young.

Why do the Nats even have him? Scherzer,Strausburg,Ross,Roark,Cole,Gonzalez, maybe Giolito? They have so many starters.

He hasn’t fared well in the rotation. Maybe the bullpen will get more out of him.
