If a player, who gets paid $500K/month screws up his rehab he/she has to say something “constructive” right?

“Screws up his rehab”? Let’s see how you play shortstop with a strained right knee.

I don’t play shortstop…..but I know this…if I am injured and the doctor tells me to go home and restrict my movements so that my injury has time to heal…and I ignore the instructions, and, all the while my boss is paying me, I further stretch out my recouperation time…I would feel compelled to say something like…..darn, maybe I should retire (wink) even though I don’t mean it….or plan to… just to placate my boss..

He retired his bat a season ago, may as well just hang up the cleats now. The M’s offense is already anemic enough.

I hope that Jack can stick around, even though he can’t hit much anymore, his glove is still great. The people of Pittsburgh were spoiled seeing his defense for so long, I don’t know if I’ll consistently see anything like it again. Good luck to you Jack.

yeah, hard to see a guy like jack going out like this, great ball player and an even better person. on a side note, looks like we made the right call on shipping out freddy and jack. both hurt since they left.
