Exhibit 34532B. Kid should have had more time to develop in the minors. Even on small market clubs, the bigs is not the place to develop.

Thank god the Pirates got McCutchen instead of him. He may eventually develop, but the process is very long and tiresome, and he isn’t entitled a job at the MLB level just because of the tools he’s yet to show thus far. Best off playing him in the minors for a year or two and hoping he gets red hot and it translates to the majors.

“Beinfest told Navarro that he doesn’t believe Maybin deserves a demotion to the minors.” So you limit his playing time in the majors and stunt his development even further? Yeah I can see the logic in that…..

Maybin’s defense is above average? What kind of sick joke is that? Someone didn’t do their research. Anyone who has watched this kid play for more than a game knows he is lost when it comes to reading balls of the bat. His speed makes up for his lack of talent but in a place like Dolphin Stadium, it’ll catch up to him and he will fail (Maybin’s error in the Halladay perfect game, for example).
PLEASE stop the Maybin experiment. He doesn’t deserve a demotion to the minors but he doesn’t deserve playing time in the bigs.
