A Slowey to Cards trade proposal (as it was asked for in the chat) I’ll preface this by saying I don’t think it will happen.
Slowey and $1 million for Fernando Salas.
The Cards have some hitters stuck behind other players they can trade: 1B Mark Hamilton, 3B Matt Carpenter, and OF Jon Jay are having huge Springs. RF/LF/1B Allen Craig has a MLB bat, but no position on the Cards behind Berkman, Pujols and Holliday. But without a compliment on the Twins side in the areas of Cardinal weakness (High OBP, Speedy OFers; MI depth; LHRP), there’s not much room for more creative trades.
I’ll go along with the Phillies are not a lock, but it’s not the Marlins they need to worry about.
