Give it up Moyer.

Brett Favre + Julio Franco = Jamie Moyer
Devern Hansack
Moyer isn’t remotely like Favre. There is no media circus surrounding Moyer. Moyer has never retired and therefore has never “un-retired.” Moyer is just an old guy who likes to play baseball for a living; you have to respect that.

Nah, no disrespect. I was more or less implying that he really doesn’t know when to call it a career.
I think he should retire and focus his attention on coaching, as I believe he will be a fine coach. I have a hard time believing that anyone will sign a 50 year old pitcher coming off Tommy John surgery.

“I have a hard time believing that anyone will sign a 50 year old pitcher coming off Tommy John surgery.”
Hey, stranger things have happened. As I recall, the Phillies recently extended a 100 year old manager coming off dementia.
Just kidding… but seriously, some of the things he says make me wonder if he’s still lucid.

Why would the Nationals consider releasing Morgan? If it comes to him not being necessary, I would think someone would take him in trade. Wouldn’t get much, but more than a waiver claim fee.

Jim Hendry likes head cases like this, so does Nationals GM Rizzo.. Then he is already with them so that cuts his relocation possibilities down by 50%. Minaya being out of a job saves Mets fans any chance of them having to endure him, since he was the type loco enough to pursue this head case.

Read the article guys… the author isn’t suggesting they do, he’s answering what he seems to think is an idea that’s going around:
“Several readers and commenters have wondered if Nyjer Morgan might meet a fate similar to Dukes. It’s not happening, and it wouldn’t make any sense if it did.”

I did read it, but thanks for the heads up. Probably why few relocation chances for him and why he will get that last option he has burned on him.

if jamie moyer learned to throw a knuckleball he could pitch forever

Gordon Wittenmyer couldn’t resist a Carlos Silva fat joke.
David Tarrance
Simply put, if Moyer can get batters out someone will sign him. And if he does it will not be with his bith certificate.

yeah i read that as “…fat, salaried carlos silva…” instead of “…fat-salaried carlos silva…”
