aramis ramirez would look real good in the marlins lineup.

I swear. You are like the weirdest person in baseball, Vazquez.
Tom McCoy
I like how Vazquez has a real crappy season, then comes back and is near lights out for a couple of long stretches. Then is crappy the next season. It would be dumb if a team signed him for a 1 year contract.
William Kafer
So you’re saying he should be signed to a multi-year deal?

Guillen makes the Marlins interesting?
You know what makes a team interesting? A brand new ballpark and WINNING. Marlins only have half of that equation right with Miami Ballpark and Ozzie Guillen

What’s fair for Jairo Garcia (Santiago Casilla) is fair for Leo Nunez, uh, Juan Oviedo, that is….

Has anyone ever been to the Orange Bowl, particularly at night??? The new stadium is in the exact same location. They’d better have a huge number of security police there for night games because that is no neighborhood to drive through at night.

Good Luck to you Ozzie, I was very sad to see you leave but happy for you getting your new challenge. I think you play the Cubs next year in April, I bet a lot of White Sox fans will be in attendance to see you beat the Cubs! Best of luck and it will be fun to see how you turn the Marlins into a championship team! Thank you for what you did for us, took 88 years, but you did it.

Please tell me exactly what Ozzie did that allowed the 2005 Sox to:
1-Hit 200 HR’s (4th in the AL)
2-Post a team ERA of 3.61 (1st in the AL)
3-Induce career years from pitchers Jose Contreras, John Garland, Neal Cotts and Cliff Politte
Sox pitching coach (Don Cooper) should receive plaudits for the pitching success not Guillen. And what Guillen knows about hitting is of no consequence.
Plus “Ozzieball” (i.e., “small ball”) was a fictional story created by writers groping for an angle and has been dismissed even by the Sox management (e.g., Asst. GM Rick Hahn).
As far as postseason winners, they typically are teams that get hot at the right time since 5-game and 7-games series lend themselves to such hot streaks.
I wish people would realize that managers have little to do with the outcome of games much less seasons. If you find a manger entertaining, so be it. But it simply comes down to whether the hitters are hitting well and the pitchers are pitching well and managers don’t do either.
As far as strategic managerial moves, Guillen (like most “old school” types) can’t bunt enough even with evidence that sacrifice bunts reduce scoring odds. But then Guillen doesn’t rely on “new school” information.
Guillen is nothing more than a dinosaur with a bombastic personality in modern managerial times. And when his personality and Loria’s combine the resulting explosion may register on the Richter scale.
Finally, if you think Guillen is going to win a championship in a division with Philadelphia, Atlanta and an up-and-coming Washington team, then you’re going to have along wait.
Unless, of course, Guillen’s personality and joke-telling come to the rescue.

Please come back Javy.

Cubs do a sign and trade for Ramirez; Ricky Nolasco and Matt Dominguez for Aramis Ramirez.
