Have a pretty good idea Yadi won’t be a Cardinal next year
stl_cards16
Why is that?
Alex Grady
I’d call that a bad idea.

I’m sure the team wants him back, but the Cards didn’t resign his bf Albert + he wants to hit free agency rather than sign an extension + he didn’t go to the 2 public events with the team this year = not with the team in 2013. Just a hunch, I have no inside knowledge

“he didn’t go to the 2 public events with the team this year”
You must be talking about the Winter Warm-up that the media wanted to make a big deal out of him not going to? Yeah, the same one that he didn’t attend last year either. He is just not big on the signing sessions. He has said he will make a donation to the Cards charity instead.
He has said before that he is willing to discuss an extension.

Re: Frasor… I’m pretty sure he would have been worth a compensation pick or two if KW had declined his option and then offered arb (assuming he declined), though if he’d accepted he probably would have been slightly more expensive.

Reminds me when the Yankees traded Sheffield after 2006 after picking up his $13MM option. Seemed like a win-win at the time. Definitely a lose lose.
