6 years is a bit much, then his is at the perfect stadium to play up to his skills, much like Pedey. Woule really, really hate to see them end up with another Michael Young situation where they have a contract they want to move and cannot, like last off season, but as of right now? 6 years seems like a workable length..If they could convince Kinsler to make that 6th year some kind of vesting, or team option?

I agree, but there were a few teams that wanted MY10, but they just weren’t offering his worth. I’m sure that the obvious reason was salary, as you mentioned.
I think 6 years is a good deal for the Rangers. Kinsler already stated that he’s fine with making the deal a team-friendly contract, but he still understands what he’s worth. I have no problem with that.
Basically, 6 years for a top three 2B isn’t too bad; especially considering that Kinsler is still only 29 (30 in late June).
I guess injuries are a problem, but he’s still had two 30/30 seasons in the past three years. He’s in his prime, and I think he’s the overall MVP of the team. He can do it all.
