Alex Anthopolous appointed GM of new Hy Vee store
Eliphaz10
HyVee sucks!!!
GareBear
Better than Publix or Wally World
Doug
Phew! DBacks fans, you dodged that bullet! After watching Byrnes deal Scherzer and Bauer, and the last regime deal half the farm system away for Shelby Miller, AA probably would deal the half that’s left for a 36 year old knuckleballer or half year rental.
szagski13
Yup because he had absolutely no hand in building up Toronto’s farm system for years prior to trading those prospects. And it’s not like the guys he got for them helped Toronto make the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. Get a clue
jd396
He sure left Toronto in rough shape
Doc Halladay
He left the team with quite a bit of uncertainty at the MLB level and left a fairly empty prospect cabinet as well. Not knocking him or his time but he put all of the teams eggs in one basket for a 2 year run.
jays4life 2
Right so let’s just keep trying to develop players and never get to the playoffs. Jays didn’t make the payoffs for 23 years until he made some great moves, since then the city has been on fire and Toronto was top 3 in attendance this year. Without those moves last year Toronto still sucks and would never have a chance to catch Boston since they have a top farm system.
jd396
It’s a calculated move to try to win in the present with a perceived window of contention. It worked. Two believable playoff teams and their anticipated roster for next year doesn’t look to be too bad of a baseline either. Yeah, some of AA’s moves came at a questionably high but you don’t find success in the MLB by being cheap and safe.

The team next year doesn’t look too good.
Doc Halladay
I was not knocking him or the moves. These last 2 years have been amazing and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I was just stating the facts that after this year’s run, the team has a lot of uncertainty going forward.
NineChampionsips
AA made some great moves for the Blue Jays. Josh Donaldson ring a bell? Either way the BJ’s are about to bounce Texas from the ALDS so I don’t think Toronto fans are too upset about AA’s tenure in Toronto.
Roblovesarguing
Yah next year looks rough. All hats left is one of the best pitching staffs in the league with no one making more than 13 million. The possibly two time MVP (AA got for nothing). One of the best SS in baseball. A potential future all star 2B he traded a 4th outfielder for. And a prospect pool that was quickly restocked thanks to international signings by AA. Oh and we are currently looking to sweep the ALDS. D-Backs dodged a real bullet.

As a Dodger fan, I’m flattered that that they have about 4 current and ex-Dodgers on their radar lol.

Colletti is still the best candidate, not sure if AA was even offered the position, typical move for those to create interest when there is none
norcalblue
Say what?? Colletti is a buffoon and if AZ selects him as Stewart’s replacement they will confirm what many have suggested here for the past year–the ownership is as much of the problem as TL and DS.

As my man Fred wrote previously on a related mlbtr article, people should read Molly Knight’s “The Best Team Money Can Buy”. Ned is a joke.
One Fan
Ned Colletti for GM really? There are many young talneted front office execs around who would be better choices
