Why have we not thought about moving chisenhall to 3rd and Ramirez to 2nd?
TheMichigan
Soto is the better defender, plus who you putting in right? Michael Martinez?
sufferforsnakes
Soto is a catcher, plus he doesn’t even play for the Tribe. Now, Urshela is a 3B, and does play for them.
Myself, I wonder if they might consider Yandy Diaz at 3B?
TheMichigan
I mean Urshela
Polish Hammer
Austin Jackson, Guyer, Brantley, Almonte and Naquin means a full outfield besides Chisenhall.
sufferforsnakes
No, please no more Lonnie at 3B.
TribeTown
Amen, brother. I still have flashbacks…
sufferforsnakes
Same here. Surprised someone hasn’t done something silly like suggesting Santana. Now that was some waking nightmares.
Burgeezy
Because Chiz is a better RF than 3B at this point.

But the important question is: will the Tribe trade Johnson to the Mets in a timely fashion???

Wonder if they could make it work with Yandy Diaz at 3B and Jose Ramirez at 2B
sufferforsnakes
Exactly what I asked above. Yandy is already set with the bat, and also offers flexibility, with his ability to play 3B, 2B, and the OF. Heck, I bet he could even play 1B and SS.
Last spring, I picked Naquin to make the team. This spring my choice is Yandy.

Yandy would be exciting, but he’s been out with a pulled muscle. He’d have to get in the lineup quick and look the part in order to break spring training with the big boys.

Erik Gonzalez seems like the guy for me. I like Urshela, but he seems like more of a reserve option. I think Gonzalez could fill in at second (or third if they do move Ramirez), and a decent performance could help their efforts to trade him if they’re comfortable with Urshela or Martinez as the utility option
jayceincase
Agree whole heartedly.
SandyAlomar
It makes sense to have Gonzales at 2b, they don’t need to do a roster move and he can play great defense. His bat was strong at AAA. Keep Ramirez at 3rd, no need to mix it up.

They could go get a cheap, stopgap player like Scooter Gennett. He can hit a little, good gamer, pretty cheap and wouldn’t be hard to move to a bench role when Kip is back.
Wouldn’t cost much, maybe a Rookie Level arm.

And…it avoids all this position-changing stuff
shoelessjoe4ever
That is a good idea. No room for Gennett any longer in Milwaukee.
biasisrelitive
actually a very good comment this makes sense

Jose will have 3B, 2B,

Mike Aviles is a valuable utility guy and is currently awaiting a contract offer.
