Horrible news for Jameson and the Pirates. Prayers for him and his family

Wow. Hope they found this early for him. At least he is in a city where they have outstanding cancer treatment. Godspeed Jamison and battle well!
CompanyAssassin
Yeah hopefully they caught it earlier (or its not there at all). I’m sure they’ll take good care of him.
realgone2
Wow that’s terrible. That’s two guys this year. Weird. Hope he makes a full recovery
CompanyAssassin
Poor guy, I hope all goes well.
partyatnapolis
best of luck.. get well soon! hate to see this

Best wishes for Taillon, he’s one of at least three Pirates the club was counting on to contend this season, and the third who will miss significant time in 2017. The Bucs were also expecting Andrew McCutchen to bounce back after a poor 2016, and that isn’t happening either.

God Bless these kids fighting this disease. Prayers to both players and their families.
outinleftfield
I will keep him in my prayers and hope for a full and speedy recovery.
Zach725
Best of luck, love watching him pitch from a braves fan.

Tough to hear, but ultimately good news…as it means he’s going to get the care he needs. Much better than finding it later. Best wishes to him.
Bucs are going nowhere without Taillon. Cutch, Watson and maybe Cole are now more likely to be traded.
antonio bananas
why trade Cole? he’s cheap and under team control until 2020.
cutch should be gone anyways with Meadows and the other OFers being better. CP is the most overrated position (60 innings) so it makes sense to trade Watson.
trading Watson and Cutch + Meadows and Bell developing along with a healthier roster in 2018 and 2019 is good enough to compete.
unless you get something crazy I wouldn’t move Cole
66TheNumberOfTheBest
I think he’s under control through 2019 and his value will never be higher and he’s a TJ away from having zero value.
I’d trade him for prospects to flip for a guy like Quintana who is cheaper and under more control or find a high end AAA prospect or two for him to join a reload, rather than a rebuild.
Now…my interest in trading Cole has been fueled largely by having Taillon around as the new ace. If he can’t be that in 2018, then they might have to keep Cole and let him walk.
antonio bananas
“until 2020” = “through 2019”
you really think there is a chance you could do that prospect shuffle for quintana? doubtful as quintana has more surplus value and would get the offers first.
taillon + cole in 2018 and 2019 is the better option. trading cole means punting 2018 and probably 2019; wasting taillon as well.
unless they get something like Judge/Sanchez (they wont), I wouldnt
looney4baseball
Judge/Sanchez for Cole? That’s funny.
antonio bananas
exactly. it will never happen, which is why thry shouldn’t trade him. they arent going to get a blow away deal, so dont trade Cole.

This amazing dude can’t catch a break. Damn. Best of luck Jamo. Like everything else you’ve had to endure, you can overcome this too.

People should not get overly dramatic, testicular cancer has a 99% cure rate if caught early, and he caught his pretty damn early if it is only “suspected.”
By the time I went through all the insurance and referral loopholes regular people have to go through, my left nut had shrunk by half and become hard as a rock. Nothing “suspected” about that and I have been totally fine and have like a 95% chance of being fine even if the 2% chance of me getting sick again occurs. All this even with my cancer being slightly advanced. Not the hugest deal…
vtadave
Yeah I mean it’s only cancer and all…
Robertowannabe
We do not know it his cancer was diagnosed early or not. We do not know if his has metastasized or not. Yes, his prognosis is good per the averages but cancer is cancer and he is still waiting on a biopsy and sure they are testing to see if has spread
hodor 3
Who’s being dramatic? It’s cancer. Leave the guy alone. Your case is not his case. He deserves luck and prayers sent his way, just like you did in your time.
Connorsoxfan
That sucks. Guys can come back after cancer though. Lester cooked to mind

Sad news for a promising talent. Hope he can come back from this. Cancer is no joke.

It’s always upsetting to read a story like this, especially with someone so young. But Taillon has a great badass attitude and I’ll add my good thoughts to those of everyone here.
darenh
I hate cancer
vinscully16
All the best to JT.
