Yankees Release Wade LeBlanc

By Jeff Todd | March 23, 2018 at 7:36pm CDT

The Yankees announced today that they have released southpaw Wade LeBlanc. He had signed a minors pact in mid-January.

The 33-year-old hurler has thrown 130 innings over the past two seasons in the majors, working to a 4.15 ERA with 7.3 K/9 and 1.9 BB/9. He threw 13 2/3 innings over seven appearances in camp this year, allowing eight earned runs on 16 hits while posting a 10:1 K/BB ratio.

LeBlanc has long posted significant reverse platoon splits, so he’s not really a lefty matchup option, but he has 79 MLB starts under his belt and made plenty of multi-inning appearances last year. Teams weighing a signing will likely view him more as a long man or swingman option.

I actually meant that. Jeff’s my favorite writer here. I just wanted to help, by courteously pointing it out.

I intentionally misspelled ‘misspelled’, to appear less of an ass, as possible.

It’s such a small, insignificant, miniscule typo, doesn’t take anything away anything.

Jeff is much better writer than me! Just trying to my part to help, even if it’s pointing out small typos, whenever see them. Thanks for all that you do!

I apologize, if you took it the wrong way, like these guys. Not sure why; it seems like everyone has a problem with everything I do these days.

And nobody cares. You comment paragraph after paragraph on every article and it adds nothing to the conversation then have the balls to call out your “favorite writer” for one missed letter. Everybody knew what he meant and I’m sure most people didn’t even notice it was missing.

          “And nobody cares”

          Huh? I was addressing Jeff.

“You comment paragraph after paragraph every article and it adds nothing to the conversation”

          I beg to differ.

“then have the balls to call out your “favorite writer…”

I was politely pointing it out. People point out typos here all the time. Balls? I’m not criticizing Jeff, or even critiquing him. No one’s perfect, so we shouldn’t point out typos? The authors here are always grateful for people who point out any mistakes. And it takes away nothing from his analysis.

“Everyone knew what it meant and I’m sure most people didn’t even notice it was missing”

That’s beside the point. Someone ALWAYS points it out. I just happened be the one, and I wasn’t rude or anything.. (complimented LeBlanc analysis before notifying him of small typo!)

I always appreciate having my typos called out, especially when it’s done politely. (Even more especially when done with a compliment! Ha.)

It’s all good everybody. Let me go fix this mess I’ve created …

No you shouldn’t. I get if they maybe have the wrong player linked or made some egregious mistake then you politely give a heads up. You and everyone else knew what he meant. I enjoy reading comments but not when you take 30 words to point out one missing letter. I’m not trying to be mean and I don’t have any issues with you posting whatever opinion you may have but just stick to commenting and let Jeff stick to his own spellchecking.

You’re too kind Jeff. I think you mean I created ^^

I’ll try harder to sound less of a douche, next time I point out any typo here. Some people have innate ability to politely point out typos, while making a joke out of it. The people have spoken. Tried and failed Lol

fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=SP Marlins should sign him as a starter. It’s not as if most of their options are better.

All this off season’s been since The Marlins completely tore down, it’s been “Marlins should sign (veteran player) because they can trade him at the deadline”.

Yikes, looking at those projections with Straily or Urena being their best pitcher worth a whopping .9 WAR has to be slightly discouraging as a fan. So bad that Leblanc literally could improve their rotation/depth.
