Mariners To Sign Christian Bergman

By Jeff Todd | April 17, 2019 at 7:55am CDT

The Mariners have agreed to a minors deal with righty Christian Bergman, according to the Mariners Minors Twitter account (link). He’ll head to Triple-A Tacoma, per broadcaster Mike Curto (via Twitter).

Bergman, who’s closing in on his 31st birthday, has seen MLB time in each of the past five seasons. That includes brief time in each of the prior two campaigns with the Mariners. Through 215 2/3 career frames at the game’s highest level, Bergman carries a 5.59 ERA with 5.4 K/9 and 2.0 BB/9.

Couldn’t find anybody new? It’s not like pitchers need to learn a playbook…

A perfect piece for the Mariners to include in their next 11 player trade.

Given the theater of the absurd way the M’s season has gone so far (“Tim Beckman: SUPERSTAR!”) , Ingmar Bergman would have been a better choice…….

I feel like you mean Ingrid, but it’s so far off that it’s tough to tell for sure.

That was a fun 2 weeks to open the season now it’s gonna be a long five months. We’re in the middle of a ten game losing streak, one of many to come. That’s Mariners baseball

Pump the brakes-We just faced 2-3 future HOF pitchers, Verlander, Cole or Bauer could win Cy Young this year and you knew Carrasco was gonna put it together sometime. We faced 6 pitchers on top of their game. I’d be surprised if the Ms face 6 straight SP’s of this caliber all year. Personally I think the WC is doable this yr
