With MLB’s stand on Pete Rose Ban I find all these Fantasy Gambling sites offensive. The only difference is MLB and other corporations are making the money instead of some bookie in a back room!
I don’t care for those sites either or pro sports involvement in them but the difference isn’t as simplistic as you make it seem.
If a player, coach, manager, or FO personnel were to use the site they would be ineligible for one year. If they used the site and selected players in a game they are involved with they would face the same, justly deserved, ban as Rose.
They same would happen if the went to a bookie or a Sports Book in a casino or online..
I think his point is that baseball’s holier than thou stance on gambling for years, looks fairly hypocritical now that they get a piece of the action.
It’s not holier than thou, it’s not letting guys bet on games they’re involved in. There’s a massive difference.

If you have ever read the Dowd Report you would know the only holier than thou stance was the one taken by the pedo Pete Rose. He saw himself as above the rules and bigger than the game itself.
