Of course not. You’re a Braves fan and that’s a poor deal for the Pirates.

What would be a fair deal then? Seriously. That’s our #4 and #18 prospects – with Harris most recently being awarded ATL’s Minor League Player of the Year – and should make a jump on some prospect lists with a solid 2019 showing and turning heads at AFL. ATL could eat some money in the deal, but even if they didn’t, Inciarte has a year more control than Marte with a team option. Before an injury-marred 2019 (hamstring), Inciarte averaged a 3.74 WAR in 5 seasons prior, not that much lower than Marte’s average.

The problem is most fans outside of ATL have not seen or head about the seasons Trey Harris has put up the last 2 years. All of the talk has been about Acuna, Riley, Pache, and Waters. They have obviously overshadowed Harris.

I think that offer could be close though. It just depends on if the Pirates want Inciarte or another prospect.

Steve’s answer to where King Felix will play- “King Felix … man, I don’t know. Maybe a so-so or even bad team in a big park rolls the dice on him? Giants? Marlins? Royals?

4 questions later- Answering about him taking a minors deal to play -“In Felix’s case, he’s never won a World Series and never even pitched in the postseason. Why wouldn’t he want that chance.”

Steve, love the chats and appreciate them for sure but this made no sense to me at all. Unless that is, you think the Giants, Marlins or Royals will be in the postseason and that makes even less sense to me. What am I missing?

He has to first re-establish himself. A win-now team isn’t going to give him the chance to do that. If he goes and shoves for 100 innings somewhere and proves that he can actually pitch again, he’ll have appeal to a postseason contender.

I didn’t think that was a huge leap to make with regard to a guy who’s only 33, but I can see where the juxtaposition of the two answers is odd.

Well I am dumb so it was too big a leap for me;) Thanks for the clarification, definitely makes more sense now.

Hey, Steve. Isn’t the consensus that Felix will likely have to sign a minor league deal? That would be his opportunity to “re-establish himself” right? Why would you assume he would prefer to sign a minor league contract with a losing team instead of a contender? Or do you think he has gotten so bad that contending teams would be weary of even giving him a 1-year minor league contract? I’m just a little confused because I thought that’s what minor league deals were for when it comes to vets so I assume he would rather pitch for a contender from the get go as opposed to hoping he gets traded to one. What do you think? Or do you think a no contender might actually give him a major league contract?

His real question was, “Why has the world changed so much since I was born in 1955? I don’t like change because I don’t understand it. In less than a year I will legally be considered elderly so everyone should do what I say and want. Elderly people often don’t understand things as simple as driving a car but everyone should respect their elders so just do whatever I say to make me feel better because by this time next year I will be elderly.”

Dam. Sorry. That was kinda harsh even for me. Regardless, you don’t get to pick and choose which questions someone else answers. These hosts have tons of questions every chat and have to accept the fact they can’t make everybody happy in one chat. I am sure they get tired of hearing people complain about it. They don’t have to do these chats at all. They do them for us for free. Don’t complain about the way they do their job unless you have hosted chats on a site with as much traffic as this one. You shouldn’t complain about what someone else does free of cost especially when you have never been in their shoes.

A little advanced notice about these sudden chats would be nice, and a little less with the Jays can’t will not or are not there yet nonsense! the Jays are 4 moves away from knocking the RedSox and Yankees around as they proved in the last 2 months of last season with a tam of rookies! I am getting so tired of the Jays being pegged as the O’s Royals type team/ they can and will pick up players this offseason and ya all can suck eggs when they do!!!

They need an entire starting pitching staff, a bullpen overhaul, and about 4 other offensive assets to be competitive. They aren’t jumping the top 3 teams in that division any time soon.

I wouldn’t peg the Jay’s as the Orioles or Royals, but maybe in the same category as the Padres right now. They are not 4 moves away from competing for the division title. So they may have to overpay for the top tier free agents.

They are not far off by any means but give them 1 more year to develop and add the necessary veterans this winter and next to make a run at the division.
